An Nawawi Islamic Boarding School has shown its commitment to the da'wah of Al-Qur'an through its Waqf Al-Qur'an program. This noble activity was held at SD Lombang-Lombang, Kalukku, Mamuju, West Sulawesi, on Sunday (12/10/2026).
This waqf activity is part of a series of community service programs carried out by the boarding school. With the theme of sharing the light of the Al-Qur'an, the school distributed dozens of copies of the Al-Qur'an to students and local residents in need. Enthusiasm was evident from the warm welcome of the school and the residents.
The leader of An Nawawi Islamic Boarding School in his speech said that this waqf program is not just about distributing mushafs, but also an effort to revive the spirit of love for the Al-Qur'an in remote areas. "The best of you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it,"
The Principal of SD Lombang-Lombang Kalukku Mamuju appreciated An-Nawawi's initiative in choosing his school as the distribution location. According to him, many students still have to take turns using the Al-Qur'an during recitation lessons. This assistance is considered right on target and helps the teaching and learning process of Islamic Religious Education.
The symbolic handover of the waqf was carried out by representatives of An Nawawi to the school and student representatives. The moment was captured in the event documentation, where students lined up neatly to receive the mushafs with happy faces.
In addition to handing over the Al-Qur'an, the An Nawawi team also provided brief motivation on the etiquette towards the Al-Qur'an and the importance of maintaining memorization.
This Waqf Al-Qur'an program is expected to become a jariyah charity whose reward continues to flow for the waqifs, donors, and the entire extended family of An Nawawi Islamic Boarding School.
An Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Pa'Bumbungang Bantaeng itself is known as a pesantren that is active in socio-religious activities, ranging from social services, tabligh akbar, to Al-Qur'an literacy programs in remote areas.
With the conclusion of this activity at SD Lombang-Lombang Kalukku Mamuju, it is hoped that the relationship between An Nawawi and the people of Mamuju will continue to be established. May every letter of the Al-Qur'an read from this waqf be a guiding light for both its recipients and givers in this world and the hereafter.
