The Regent of Bantaeng Attends the Inauguration of An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Pa’Bumbungang and Extends Grant for Dormitory Construction
An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School – Today, July 13, 2026, marked a historic milestone for Islamic education in Bantaeng Regency with the official inauguration of An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Pa’Bumbungang as an "A" accredited institution. Held in conjunction with the Welcoming and Farewell Ceremony for the students (santri), this event underscores the local government's solid commitment to advancing character education.

The lively inauguration was attended by prominent figures, reflecting full support from various sectors of the government and the community. Present at the event was the Regent (Bupati) of Bantaeng, who also officially inaugurated the boarding school's new building.

Accompanying him were the Head of the Bantaeng Regency Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, the Head of the Islamic Boarding School Section (Kasi Pontren), the Head of Eremmerasa District (Camat), the Head of Pa’Bumbungang Village, the KATIBDIMMAS of Pa’Bumbungang, and the BABINSA of Pa’Bumbungang. Numerous community leaders from Pa’Bumbungang Village were also seen crowding the venue, demonstrating immense enthusiasm for the establishment of this educational institution.

In his remarks, the Regent of Bantaeng expressed his deep appreciation for the establishment of An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School. He emphasized the vital role of boarding schools in molding a younger generation that is both intellectually bright and noble in character. As a concrete demonstration of commitment and support from the Bantaeng Regency Government, the Regent symbolically announced a funding grant for the construction of a new student dormitory.

This support aligns with the shared objective of enhancing the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure, enabling students to pursue knowledge in a more representative and comfortable environment.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Foundation expressed his immense gratitude to all the dignitaries in attendance, extending his appreciation to the Regent and his staff, as well as the community leaders.

An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Pa’Bumbungang is established with the vision of becoming a modern, integrated Islamic education center that blends an academic curriculum with character building and strong Islamic values. With continuously developing facilities, this boarding school is expected to produce future leaders who are highly capable and beneficial to both the nation and religion.

This sentiment was mirrored by an analogy shared by the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) Office: "A sharp needle, when utilized effectively and guiding from the front, will naturally draw the attached thread right along behind it. Meaning, if the Regent can grant funding for the dormitory construction, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is equally capable of contributing to the advancement of this boarding school," he stated during his speech.

From the contribution of the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, it can be concluded that the success and triumph of an institution are often heavily driven by such vital external support.
