An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School – An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School has once again demonstrated its commitment to producing highly capable missionary cadres. Six selected students have been officially declared ready for deployment to fulfill the mandate of serving as Imams at regional mosques across Makassar City, Gowa, and Bantaeng.
The six students and their respective placements are:
- Putra – Nurul Huda Mosque, Bumi Zarindah, Gowa
- Adam – Darul Intiqol Mosque, Alauddin 2, Makassar
- Ridwan Dg. Naba – Baiturrahman Mosque, Samata, Gowa
- Essenza – Baiturrahman Mosque, Samata, Gowa
- Takbir – Sahrul Mubarak Mosque, Bantaeng
- Izhar – Al Iklas Mosque, Bantaeng
This assignment is more than just a routine; it is a core component of the students' community service program. They will be stationed at strategic locations, including regional mosques in the heart of Makassar City, the Samata area of Gowa, and Bantaeng—regions known as educational hubs and densely populated residential centers.
Before their deployment, these students underwent a series of rigorous internal selections, including tests on Quranic memorization (Tahfidz), Tajwid fluency, and a comprehensive understanding of the Fiqh of prayer.
"This is a testament that the curriculum we implement does not only focus on theory, but also on the mental readiness of students to step directly into the community and lead the Ummah," stated the Chairman of the Foundation, Dr. Abudzar Al Qifari, M.Pd.I.
The presence of these young scholars is expected to bring a fresh spirit to Islamic outreach (syiar) in their respective mosques. In addition to leading the five daily prayers (Rawatib), they will also lead the Taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan.
There is great hope that the involvement of these young students will provide a new vibrancy to Islamic propagation in the mosques where they serve.
