Realizing Pesantren Economic Independence: Mak Tani Wakfs Multi-Functional Milling Machine to An-Nawawi IBS Islamic Boarding School, South Sulawesi
An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School – Efforts to support economic independence within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) continue to flow. This time, Budiyanto, owner of the agricultural tool business Mak Tani based in Sragen, Central Java, officially wakfed (donated as a charitable endowment) one unit of a versatile milling machine (PM 500) to the An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School (IBS) located in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi.
The handover of this aid was addressed directly to the Chairman of the Boarding School Foundation, Ustadz Dr. Abudzar Al Qifari, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I. In his statement, Budiyanto conveyed that the donation of this machine is a form of social responsibility and a jariyah (continuous) charity from the extended Mak Tani family for the progress of the Ummah.
"Bismillah, we wakf this PM 500 machine, a multi-functional milling machine, to Ustadz Abudzar Al Qifari at the An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School. We hope this machine serves as a jariyah charity for us and provides broad benefits for the students (santri) and the entire boarding school community," said Budiyanto in a documentary video.
Support for the Ummah's Economy The PM 500 milling machine is known for its diverse functions, ranging from processing food ingredients to meeting livestock feed needs. With this tool, it is hoped that An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School can optimize local potential and train the students' independence in entrepreneurship.
Budiyanto also added his hope that the relationship between business practitioners and Islamic educational institutions will remain closely intertwined to boost the economy of the Ummah in Indonesia.
"This is all we can currently contribute, but we hope for other synergies in the future to continue supporting the progress of Muslims, specifically in South Sulawesi and Indonesia in general," he concluded with gratitude.
An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School welcomed this assistance and hopes that Mak Tani's initiative can serve as an inspiration for other business owners to contribute to the empowerment of pesantren.
